FAKE PROFILE TARGETS YOUNGSTERS
Police are warning parents and carers to be on the lookout after they have been made aware of a post on social media that appears to show local children in Fleet and Crookham being contacted by a fake online profile.
The post, which has been shared on local Facebook and school groups, shows details of a fake Snapchat account that is befriending local youngsters and is requesting to meet them.
Officers stated:
We are dealing with any incidents reported to us accordingly however would like to take this opportunity to advise parents and carers to educate their young people around internet safety and amending privacy settings to restrict friend requests from strangers on social media, especially Snap Chat.
