TAVISTOCK ROAD DEVELOPS A YELLOW STREAK

If you happen to be in the Tavistock Road area in the next few weeks, expect to see an update to road surfaces, as both single and double yellow lines are said to be laid down in the local area. This is believed to mainly focus around Tavistock Junior school.

This could cause an amount of local disruption but with congestion around school areas growing ever worse, many will see the move as one to protect the safety of local children. Of course it might not so easy for parents on the school run anymore, something which may make school pickup time a little less convenient.

There is also a degree of concern from residents in the Dukes Mead area, who believe that with limited parking available, they will be the ones absorbing the overflow of traffic. This would invariably  lead to more cars blocking the road and  with traffic and transport increasing all the time, including local bus routes, that is bound to cause issues of its own. So, while it’s a case of mellow yellow for some, it may well cause others to see red. Watch this space to see if the yellow lines will be expanded into other nearby areas, or let us know if you’ve heard anything!
