FULL LISTING OF JUBILEE PLANS FOR FLEET

The upcoming celebrations for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in Fleet will be a unique four day event running from the 2nd to the 5th June 2022.

Events include street parties, music, entertainment and celebrations along with some unique and fun additions from local businesses. This page brings everything together for you in one place, so you can plan every single minute of the long weekend, ensuring you don’t miss a thing!

We will update this page with all new events – so keep checking back for more details. You can also take a look at the road closures in Fleet for the long Jubilee weekend.

THURSDAY 2ND JUNE

ALL DAY – JUBILEE POSTER TRAIL AND BROCHURE

Throughout the week Monday 30th May till Monday 6th June, 70 of Fleet’s retailers will be displaying a poster corresponding to the each of the years 1952-2022.  There is a different poster for each year.  As you walk along both sides of Fleet Road you will be experiencing 70 years of history, at the same time as having the opportunity to win a £75 voucher to spend at any of the businesses participating in the competition.  See if you can spot the contributions from ForFleetsSake.co.uk! 6.30pm – PROPOGANDA 

“Betty’s Bingo”. Free entry, fun prizes, spot drink prizes and bar tabs to be won. First game at 6.30pm, followed by an evening of drinking and dancing (more details). Update – this event may not go ahead due to business closure, update pending.

7pm – REFRESHMENTS AND ENTERTAINMENT

Refreshments and entertainment in Calthorpe Park from 7pm onwards.

9.15pm – LANTERN PARADE

All Saints Junior School Lantern Parade at Calthorpe Park. The parade will follow the path through Calthorpe Park, along the tennis courts to the trees half way across the park. This area will be cordoned off for the fireworks later in the evening. The parade will follow the cordon across the park to make a wall of lanterns. (more details).

9.45pm – BEACON LIGHTING

Fleet will be lighting one of more than 1,500 beacons which will be lit throughout the United Kingdom, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories. To be held in Calthorpe Park (more details).

10pm – FIREWORKS

Fleet Lion Fireworks in Calthorpe Park to mark the Jubilee celebrations.

FRIDAY 3RD JUNE

9am – BIKE RIDE

30 mile cycle ride starting and finishing in Calthorpe Park. Entry fee £10 for age 17 and under, £5 for 16 and under (must be accompanied by an adult). To register and see more details click here.

10am – FAMILY BIKE RIDE

10 mile bike ride catering for families and novice/fun cyclists. starting and finishing in Calthorpe Park. Entry fee £10 for age 17 and under, £5 for 16 and under (must be accompanied by an adult). To register and see more details click here.

12pm – GARDEN JUBILEE PARTY

Garden Jubilee Celebrations at The Spice Merchant pub in Crookham Village. With BBQ, bouncy castle, candy floss and face painting. Live music from 8pm. Free entry, table booking is advised. From midday until late. (more details).

12pm – REFRESHMENTS AND STALLS

Refreshments and community stalls in Calthorpe Park from 12pm – 6pm. A range of sporting activities including Everyone Active Leisure Centre, Football, Tennis, Athletics, Archery, Boxing, Tomahawks, Dog Agility and a Dog Show.

12pm – BOAT RALLY

Bring your boat, canoe, kayak or paddleboard to the The Basingstoke Canal Jubilee Rally by the Fox and Hounds pub. There will also be live music and a BBQ in the pub grounds (more details).

12.30pm – LIVE MUSIC

Live music at The Fox and Hounds pub. 12.30pm – The Rockin Rogers, 4pm – No Small Thing.

1pm – EARLY SITTING GARDEN PARTY

The De Havilland pub are putting on a garden party with two sittings at 1pm and 6pm. You can pre-order picnic packs for £15 each (£7.50 for children). Tables can be secured with a £5 deposit per person (non-refundable). Includes garden games and entertainment.

6pm – LATE SITTING GARDEN PARTY

7pm – COMMUNITY QUIZ

Join the Fleet and Crookham Branch of the Royal British Legion for a community quiz night. To be held at the Community Centre, The Key, Elvetham Heath. Doors open at 7pm, Quiz starts at 7.30pm  (more details).

SATURDAY 4TH JUNE

9am – FLEET SATURDAY MARKET

Fleet market in Gurkha Square is on from 9am – 3pm. Featuring a range of goods stalls, food, drink and entertainment.

12pm – REFRESHMENTS AND STALLS

Refreshments, entertainment and community stalls in Calthorpe Park from 12pm – 6pm.

12.30pm – JUBILEE PARADE

Marching bands, local organisations, clubs and societies take part in a Jubilee parade. The procession starts in Connaught Road, goes up Kings Road, along Fleet Road and down Reading Road North to Calthorpe Park, where there will be a short ceremony (more details).

1pm – CAR PROCESSION

Ending in Calthorpe Park, Seven decades of motoring car procession. Time is approximate.

1pm – COUNTY TRACTORS PROCESSION

Reliving a major part of the history of Fleet, there will be a parade of County Tractors on the main parade route. Time is approximate.

2pm – NATIONAL ANTHEM AND COMMUNITY STALLS

The parade and car procession ends in Calthorpe Park, where there will be an address by the Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire and singing of the National Anthem, with three cheers for the Queen. There will also be stalls and refreshment tents with a beer bus, BBQ and burgers, samosas and ice cream, along with games and two giant assault courses.

2pm – SENIOR CITIZEN JUBILEE TEA

Fleet Lions are providing an afternoon tea at the Crookham Park Community Centre to celebrate the Silver Jubilee. The afternoon tea runs from 2 – 4pm and includes entertainment from Marcus Boll and the Midnight Songbirds. Booking essential (more details).

6pm – LATE SITTING GARDEN PARTY

SUNDAY 5TH JUNE

10am – DOUBLE FUN RUN

  1. 5km Fun Run starting in Calthorpe Park. For adults and accompanied children over 11. £10 entry fee 16+, £5 entry fee 11-15.
  2. 100m Mini Fun Run for children under 11 years old. (£5 entry fee) (more details).

10am – FAMILY SERVICE OF WORSHIP

A one hour inter-denominational act of worship in Gurkha Square.

12pm – THE BIG JUBILEE STREET PARTY

The Big Jubilee Lunch Street Party with street food, seating and entertainment along the High Street. There will be live music from the stage in Gurkha Square (relayed along the High Street and to The Views), with dancing and entertainment. You can also bring your own food and chairs to join in a picnic in The Views Meadow. Ends 8pm.

12pm – JUBILEE PICNIC

From 12pm – 4pm there will be a picnic and activities on the green at Elvetham Heath. Includes face painting, large garden games, children’s arts and crafts and a “make your own crown” competition (judging at 2pm).

3.30pm – RAF CHINOOK FLY PAST

At approx. 3.30pm there will be a fly past over the jubilee street party. They will be heading from Station to Oatsheaf at 500ft. Cancelled (read more).

JUBILEE BAKE OFF COMPETITION

Warren Powell-Richards Estate Agents are hosting a Jubilee Bake Off Competition, the prize is a voucher for Afternoon tea for four people at Frensham Pond Hotel. To enter, simply post a picture of your Jubilee cake creation or a photograph of your Jubilee celebration party tagging Warren Powell-Richards. Closing date 6th June (more details).
