FIVE MINUTE READS!
Local housing developments seem to be increasing in leaps and bounds recently, much to the despair of local residents. Sadly this also has a knock on effect on local facilities, including schools in Fleet. This letter, sent to parents today, seeks to change the catchment area of the new development from Dogmersfield Church of England School and instead leave Tavistock Infants and All Saints Junior to absorb the new intake of students.
Although this is stated to be a ‘proposed change’ to the catchment area, it does appear quite far along as the schools in questions appear to have known about this for quite a while.
The question does have to be asked though…were the ‘capacity restrictions’ at Dogmersfield school not realised or taken into consideration when the plans for the Grove Farm development were put forwards? It would surely have caused even more upset and objections from local parents though, so it’s a timely way of adding it in as a last minute addition…
