NEW TAKEAWAY COMING TO FLEET
IS THERE ROOM FOR ANOTHER ONE?
ARE YOU READY FOR ANOTHER TAKEAWAY?
Just when you thought things couldn’t get anymore exciting(!), Fleet High Street is about to add yet another takeaway to its rather large repertoire. The approval for change of use from retail to restaurant at 181 Fleet Road was granted back in April and despite some concerns about the smell and noise to neighbouring buildings it seems it’s well on its way…

Below: 181 Fleet Road standing empty…but not for long.
The new outlet will be Pepe’s Piri Piri, a chain that specialises in flame grilled chicken and one that has stores in nearby Guildford and Reading. Situated just a couple of doors away from KFC, it could be the start of a new turf war in Fleet…
Below: Plans for the new Pepe’s Piri Piri restaurant and takeaway.
The restaurant will offer both eat in and takeaway options, with a newly designed ground floor featuring booth seating as well as barstools and counters.

The outlet certainly has the potential to offer up some serious competition to some of the other fast food outlets in town but is this something Fleet needs? With an ever growing repetition of the same type of occupants in the High Street, are you looking forward to seeing the empty unit filled?
