DISAPPOINTMENT AS FLYPAST CANCELLED

Today’s Street Party in Fleet marks the end of four days of celebrations and was meant to have featured a flypast by the RAF chinooks around 3.30pm.

Unfortunately, after waiting for permission from Farnborough airport to begin the display, the team were eventually refused permission. This was said to be due to a “backlog of planes” that had built up at the local airport.

The news will come as a great disappointment to the many partygoers in Fleet, who packed Fleet Road to enjoy the last of the Royal festivities.

Bad show Farnborough – but still a great show all round in Fleet.
