FIVE MINUTE READ – NEWS ON THE GO!

NEW CASES CONFIRMED

With Covid numbers on the rise again, especially with more testing being carried out, it’s no surprise to hear that three Fleet schools have confirmed cases of the virus. Calthorpe Park School, Courtmoor School and Tweseldown Infants now have pupils isolating at home.

Calthorpe has been confirmed with one pupil that has tested positive for the virus. They are now isolating for 14 days along with anyone in their ‘bubble’ who has had contact with them. The school haven’t stated what year they are in, but it is thought to affect year 11. Calthorpe has recently announced the upcoming loss of both their head teachers, Mr. Amos and Ms Hooper, as they have decided to step down together in Easter 2021, leaving the school on the lookout for someone to fill the position(s).

Courtmoor also has a single confirmed case with a child in year 8 who was off school with symptoms before having the test. It is understood that only the affected form is isolating, despite the fact that pupils are in mixed group for various lessons throughout the day.

*Update* It has now been confirmed that Tweseldown Infant School in Fleet has also got one pupil who has tested positive for Covid. They are in Robin class, with the class now isolating.

Because of the social bubble system, it doesn’t appear that there is any need for school closures anytime soon.
