JOIN THE CHRISTMAS EVE JINGLE!

After yet more depressing news as Hart makes plans to move into Tier 4 on Boxing Day, why not join in with a new initiative to come together and combat loneliness on Christmas Eve.

You remember the days of standing clapping on your doorstep? Well this is very similar, with plans to ring a bell at 6pm on Christmas Eve instead, bringing together communities all over the UK and beyond and adding a touch of magic to the end of a very tough year.

If you don’t have access to a bell, you can download a number of Apps that will make the sound for you, so there’s no excuse not to join in and grab the opportunity to bring old and young together as we celebrate Christmas 2020.

If you’d like to join with others online for the great Christmas Jingle, there is a worldwide Facebook group set up for the event called “Worldwide Christmas Eve Jingle 2020”. Just click the image below to take a look:

The event was initially dreamt up by Mary Beggs-Reid, who organised it from her home town in Yorkshire to “end 2020 with a bit of magic, hope and togetherness”. In a year where hope is thin on the ground, thousands joined the cause and the Facebook group now stands at a staggering 478,000 members.

Boris has confirmed that he and his partner Carrie Symonds will be “out ringing bells to help Santa on his way” and 2020 hero Sir Tom Moore said it is a “brilliant initiative at a time when it is really needed”.

So whether it’s to bring your community together, help Santa fly his sleigh or help combat loneliness in your area, will you be joining in?

Remember – 6pm Christmas Eve – take a video and share it with us, if we get enough, we’ll publish them on the website!
