HART DISTRICT COUNCIL GOES VIRTUAL!
NEWS ON THE GO!
There will be a change in format for the next Hart District Council meeting tomorrow (Thursday 30th April), as a new virtual environment is trialed for the first time. The meeting will be live streamed as usual at 7pm on the HDC LiveSteam Page on Facebook and the focus of the meeting will be the adoption of the local plan. Remember though, for reasons that are unclear, all meetings on the live stream page will be deleted within 24 hours and possibly a lot sooner than that, so if you are curious about the virtual meeting and fancy watching it, make a note for tomorrow evening!
Below: Hart District Council announce virtual meeting.
The ability to live stream council meetings at Hart was finally given the go ahead in August, after a long battle by Councillor Steve Forster to get the scheme approved, despite objections…and thank goodness he did as it has now paved the way for the council to hold meetings safely and securely. If only Fleet Town Council would consider being more open with the public too and allow their meetings to be viewed live online by local residents…but to date there appears to be no willingness to do this, perhaps it’s time to reconsider this in light of the current circumstances?
Below: Councillor Forster comments on the upcoming virtual meeting(s).

Ok it might not be up to your usual Thursday night Netflix binge but it’s something that marks a change in the way that things are being done in these current and unusual circumstances and it is certainly a moment in local history. It will also be paused (if it’s still ongoing), at 8pm for the regular Thursday night ‘Clap for Carers’, so you’ll still have time to run out in your PJs and bang a saucepan on your doorstep…whoever thought that words like that would seem normal. So if you’ve nothing else planned (and let’s face it, who has nowadays), why not tune in and give it a go!
