FLEET CORONATION CELEBRATIONS
With the long weekend starting tomorrow and the coronation celebrations finalised and ready to go, we take a look at just what Fleet has to offer you this weekend. From parades and entertainment to your favourite Fleet and Crookham pubs, take a look at the list below…and if you own a local business that is hosting a special public event but isn’t mentioned here, get in touch to be added to the list!
FRIDAY 5TH MAY
Local coronation events in Fleet Hampshire on the 5th May:
FALKNERS ARMS PUB
The Falkners Arms will be kicking off the long weekend with a showcase of 5 live bands starting at 8.30pm.
PRINCE OF WALES PUB
The Prince of Wales pub will be hosting a beer festival from 12pm Friday 5th – Monday 8th May.
SATURDAY 6TH MAY
Local coronation events in Fleet Hampshire on the 6th May (Coronation Day):
FALKNERS ARMS PUB
The Falkners Arms will be showing the coronation live at 1pm. They will have a free bouncy castle in the garden and will be offering coronation face painting at a cost of £4.50 per child.
Between 12 – 8.30pm they will be hosting a BBQ consisting of burgers and hot dog (meat or veggie), served with chips. In the evening they have a live band playing rock and pop classics until midnight. The bar closes at 1am.
PRINCE OF WALES PUB
The Prince of Wales pub will be hosting a beer festival from 12pm Friday 5th – Monday 8th May.
THE FORESTERS PUB
The Foresters will be showing the coronation live from 11am on Saturday. They will be offering a “King’s Cream Tea” from 12pm – 4pm.
THE SPICE MERCHANT PUB
The Spice Merchant will will be celebrating the coronation from 12pm – late with a BBQ (until 6pm), live music, a bouncy castle and popcorn and candy floss.
WYVERN PUB
The Wyvern will be offering a full English breakfast from 9am (alcohol from 10am) and will have live coverage of the coronation. During the day they will be offering a hog roast, BBQ and garden DJ. Visit their website to book.
SUNDAY 7TH MAY
Local coronation events in Fleet Hampshire on the 7th May:
12pm BASINGSTOKE CANAL
From 12pm onwards there will be a boat rally on the canal near to the Fox and Hounds pub, along with paddle boarding and raft building. The pub will also be offering food and entertainment.
2pm FLEET HIGH STREET
At 2pm in Fleet High Street there will be a large coronation parade, including 100 classic cars and supercars.
2pm – 10pm CALTHORPE PARK
Calthorpe Park will be hosting a number of activities and entertainment which will be opened by the Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire at 2pm. There will be 30 food and refreshment stalls including a Gin Fest Stall and Pimms Tent. Organisers warn that the signal isn’t great in the park and advise that you bring along some cash in case electronic payment fails. You are also welcome to bring a picnic to the park and just chill out.
On offer there will be:
• Classic & Supercars Show
• Stage offering a full programme of music entertainment
• Dog Show
• 25 Community Stalls with games and activities
• Face Painters, Balloon Modeller, Stilt walker
• Painted Rock Treasure Hunt
• Craft Treasure Hunt (completed entry form collection point at Heathuns WI stall)
There will also be a range of activities and games. Many of these will be free although some will have a charge:
2 x Giant Assault Courses, Crazy Golf, Bungee Trampoline, Surfing Simulator,
Trolley Slide, Circus Skills Arena, Archery, Tomahawk Throwing, Rifle Shooting, Fun Metal
Detecting, Everyone Active, Hurricane Boxing
At approx. 8.30 – 9pm there will be a beacon lighting, firework display and grand finale.
FALKNERS ARMS PUB
The Falkners Arms pub will be offering 10% discount on the food bill of anyone booking a roast meal.
FOX AND HOUNDS PUB
The Fox and Hounds will have a BBQ from 12pm onwards with live music in two sessions from 12.30pm – 3pm and 3.45pm – 6pm. There will also be a boat rally, kayaking and paddle boarding on the canal. Also moored beside the towpath will be the Basingstoke Canal Society and 26th Odiham (Fleet) Sea Scouts.

The Prince of Wales pub will be hosting a beer festival from 12pm Friday 5th – Monday 8th May.
PROPOGANDA
Propoganda Music Canteen will be hosting an evening of “Kingo” bingo from 7pm on Sunday, followed by dancing til late. Free entry and prizes.
MONDAY 8TH MAY
Local coronation events in Fleet Hampshire on the 8th May:

The Falkners Arms pub will be offering a 20% discount on all food.
PRINCE OF WALES PUB
The Prince of Wales pub will be hosting a beer festival from 12pm Friday 5th – Monday 8th May.
