FLEET AND HART LIONS RAISE THOUSANDS WITH SANTA

It wasn’t the easiest of years but the 2020 Christmas Santa sleigh, run by Fleet Lions and Hart Lions, has proved to be a great success once again. Despite challenging times, the popular annual event still saw Santa make his way round Fleet, stopping in a range of locations to make sure everyone got a chance to meet and greet the big man himself.

The festive event kept a safe social distance as it stopped outside local venues to being cheer to Fleet, while raising over £5400, a staggering achievement and even more so when you consider the limitations they had to deal with. The Lions even added a colouring competition this year to give local children a festive treat to cheer up a rather sombre year.

The money raised will go towards helping local residents in need, as the Lions prove that nothing will slow them down. In fact they are already back to work, helping local children with a drive to help home learning by gathering and redistributing old computers to those that need it. With their community store due to re-open on February 22nd, it looks like they will have their hands full for some time to come yet!
