ONE CHARITY LEAVES FLEET AS ANOTHER STAYS
NEWS ON THE GO!
ONE CHARITY SHOP CLOSES…
More news in the never ending changes to the face of the High Street today with the sad news that the charity shop with the famously large doorway has now closed for good. Age UK has been a familiar face in Fleet for many years but like so many others, is struggling to survive in these current times.

The handwritten sign on the door states that the shop has permanently closed and asks people not to leave donations in the doorway, something that has been building up as people come out of lockdown after having a sort out of unwanted goods in recent weeks.
The shop is a larger building than some others and with a very visible presence as you enter the High Street, so will hopefully attract another tenant soon. Hopefully it won’t duplicate some of the other residents of Fleet Road though, as tends to happen…it would be great to see something new and different there to really give the town a boost.
WHILE ANOTHER CHOOSES TO STAY…
On a positive note, another long term charity shop in Fleet has decided to stay in the High Street after all, as Phyllis Tuckwell opens its doors once more. The announcement was made on their Twitter feed a few days ago, stating that the shop would re-open on the 7th July.
