POOL CLOSURE HITS EASTER HOLIDAYS
Hart Leisure Centre in Fleet Hampshire has given out a warning to all those planning to visit during the Easter holidays for a swim. The centre has previously had issues with a faulty ceiling over the pool area and it seems this has yet to be fully resolved as all the swimming pools at the centre are to be closed from Tuesday 12th – Friday 22nd April.
The closure has brought a less than happy response from local residents as it manages to cover the entire Easter holidays, which would usually be a prime time for families to use the facilities. All swimming lessons will also be cancelled during the closure, with the pools not due to reopen until Saturday 23rd April…just in time for the kids to go back to school.

Hart Leisure Centre say that the work on the ceiling is to “allow for further investigations to establish the cause of an issue with some of our ceiling slats”. This follows a previous closure in June last year, when a safety net was installed over the pool to protect swimmers.
While the work may be essential on safety grounds, the timing of the decision is proving to be very unpopular, adding to residents complaints that the local centre is often unavailable due to high prices and fully booked sessions that see groups from other areas using the facilities.
