FLEET MISSES OUT ON VACCINATION CENTRE

It has been a frustrating time for Fleet residents, as they watched news from neighbouring towns who were already beginning to use their new vaccination hubs. However, it has now been confirmed that Fleet residents will not have access to a centre of their own, something that will bring huge disappointment to those who have been waiting for more positive news.

Fleet residents are to be directed to one of three vaccination centres, based on the doctors surgery where they are registered. These are as follows:

Branksomewood Road – patients registered here will be directed to Princes Hall in Aldershot.

Fleet Medical Centre – patients registered here will be directed to Monteagle Surgery in Yateley.

Richmond Surgery – patients registered here will be directed to the the Church Crookham War Memorial Hall on Sandy Lane (opposite The Wyvern).

Fleet Town Council stated “We expressed various concerns but were informed that, regrettably, there would be no official Vaccination site in Fleet. The 3 Fleet Surgeries are in continuing discussion with the local CCG and the situation is evolving. We were assured by the local CCG Representative that there is more to follow…… There will be a communication from the Fleet Surgeries going out to patients.”

Below: The statement from Fleet Town Council. please note, the Church Crookham location is incorrect, it is to be the War Memorial Hall as listed above.

People are asked not to contact their surgeries and to wait for a letter or text message offering them an appointment.

Please note that if you receive a text message from the NHS, asking you for private details or payment, this is a scam!

The news will leave many feeling let down, as discussions between the NHS and Hart District Council officers have resulted in no option for Fleet residents, although local surgeries have been hard at work vaccinating care home residents and workers.

This post will be updated as more information becomes available.
