NEW MANAGEMENT AND NEW NAME FOR LOCAL BUSINESS
Following an announcement in January that it was seeking a buyer, “Serendipity” antique and gift shop has now finalised plans to hand the business over to new management.
The antique shop, incorporating “Daisy’s Tea Rooms” will continue to trade under their current identities until 25th May, after which time the new owners will step in. While the business at 295 Fleet Road is set to remain as a gift shop and tea room, it looks as though there may be a name change…currently thought to be “Tylea’s”.

Serendipity posted the update on their Facebook page today, ending the speculation about the future of the business:
I speak as the owner of Serendipity and Daisy’s Tea Room in Fleet, which opened on the 31st of May 2012, almost 10 years ago by myself and my husband.
I want to give you the update that 295 Fleet Road, Fleet, is to remain a tea room with gifts and antiques but under new management and, the name of the business is likely to be changed to Tylea’s.
Serendipity and Daisy’s Tea Room will continue to trade under their current names until the 25th of May 2022 when after that date, the new management will take over. We are pleased to say that some of our long-standing, existing staff are to remain employed there.
Once the announcement was made of our intention to find a buyer or close, we had so many well-wishers come to see us, it was really lovely. Unfortunately, many people believe we have already closed which has affected the business.
So, why not treat yourself to a special ‘lunch deal’ from Daisy’s where you can enjoy a freshly made sandwich with side salad served with a pot of tea or coffee for just £5, between 16 – 21 May. The following week, over our last three days (23 -25 May), we will be offering all our Serendipity and Daisy’s customers, a complimentary cocktail drink (with alcoholic or non-alcoholic options). Our Serendipity sale remains on with up to 50% reductions.
With only 11 days to go, it would be lovely to see some of our wonderful customers to say goodbye.
It’s been a real pleasure and honour to have traded in Fleet and, even through some recent challenging times, the friendship and support we have received has been constant. We would like to thank all our customers and the staff who have worked with us over the past 10 years to make Serendipity and Daisy’s the much loved destination it is today.
Please ‘share’ and spread the word
Jane and Paul Shilling xx
The news will please existing customers of the shop, who will still be able to get their fix of tea, cakes and gifts in familiar surroundings.
We wish the best of luck to the new owners.
