POPULAR DOG WALKING AREA ON FIRE
Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area around Hawley Lake in Blackwater tonight, as firefighters tackle a blaze at the popular beauty spot. The team from Fleet Fire Station were joined by thirty other firefighters from Rushmoor, Hartley Wintney, Bordon, Yateley and Odiham stations.

This is the second local dog walking area to suffer such a fate this year, following a blaze at Caesar’s Camp in February.
Latest Update: The crews are starting to scale down their attendance at the blaze as they finally gain control of it, with the “stop message” being received at 9.42pm. There will be an inspection in the morning to assess the condition of the land. There is no update on the official cause of the fire at this time, although it is understood that kids on bikes were seen setting fires earlier this afternoon and on the previous weekend.
