FLEET BUS TIMETABLE CHANGES

by For Fleet's Sake

FIVE MINUTE READS!

Councillor Steve Forster reports on the latest changes to the local Fleet bus timetables due to the coronavirus situation. He posted the following on his Facebook page:

Buses – changes to services for Fleet/Elvetham and the wider area. Routes 7&10.

Stagecoach have announced changes to timetables from Monday 30th March to cope with COVID-19.

Although they’ve indicated a move generally to a Sunday service, locally that would leave us with no buses; therefore have agreed they’d revise it here to roughly a 2 hourly service Mon-Sat.

The number 7 bus will operate a regular 2 hourly service between Aldershot and Elvetham Heath, Monday to Saturday.

The number 10 bus will run just 7 services per day between Church Crookham/Fleet to Farnborough, Monday to Saturday (click for more details).

Reading Buses are also making changes to their Number 7 bus timetable from 30th March. They will only be running what is currently the Saturday service during weekdays as well. The new timetable is here.

There will also be changes to the Fleet Link Service (note – thanks to the clerk at FTC for sending me all this info) which is funded by HCC, HDC and our parish and operated by Rushmoor Voluntary Services RVS. I haven’t been sent details of timetables but apparently they are continuing with all transport services where possible and safe.

RVS are also:
· calling all their regular users to have a ‘chat’ and check in on them.
· supporting passengers by delivering food and shopping and by helping vulnerable people in the community – like the community bus service in Hartley Wintney that Cllr. Jane Worlock posted about.

I have asked if FleetLink would waive their 400m rule in terms of pickups in light of the Stagecoach changes and am awaiting a response.

However – remember the advice. Stay at home if you can, only go out if your trip is for the reasons stated by Public Health England, and government rules.
