LOONY LEADER STANDS FOR NORTH EAST HAMPSHIRE
With the election looming large and Christmas just around the corner it’s an easy time to let stress take over. Many have made up their mind who to vote for but some are still undecided, being drowned in a sea of leaflets and spin while being none the wiser.
If all this sounds familiar then it may be time to go Loony! Fleet Town Councillor and the leader of the Monster Raving Loony Party, Alan Hope, is here to give a down to earth perspective and an alternative option for all those who are considering voting for ‘none of the above’. As the longest serving political leader in the UK, one thing he doesn’t lack is experience…and stories!
Alan is already a Fleet Town Councillor and is one of the most popular and well known faces in Fleet, especially if you happen to frequent the Prince Arthur pub! He’s always ready for a chat and to offer a friendly ear if you have any issues you’d like to discuss with him…yes…even serious ones!
So whoever you’re voting for (or not) this year, sit back and get acquainted with Alan and maybe go a little Loony…
Below: Go Loony! Talking to Alan Hope about Fleet, politics…and a few other bits…with special thanks to our interviewer Nicki Cranham for being a darn good sport!
As Alan says, whatever your political persuasion, he’s on your side! You won’t find any of the usual waffle and shenanigans with the Monster Raving Loony Party, just lots of smiles, many stories and a good pinch of insanity. But if you find yourself having to hide your secret Loony-ism from other members of the family then never fear…because in true Blue Peter Style, here’s something we made earlier…a cut out and keep memento for you to print out at your leisure and tuck away wherever you see fit. Shhh, we won’t tell…
No matter who you decide to vote for though, just grit your teeth and stick with it, it’s almost over! Soon you’ll be able to go back to normality without the non-stop election hype everywhere you look…just in time to argue with the family over who ate the last mince pie or who forgot to pick Aunt Doris up from the station in time for Christmas dinner. Maybe there’s a little bit of Loony in your family too…smile!
